DigiFemmes Start program launched

The DigiFemmes Start program was held from March 29 to 31, 2023 at the Ecole Supérieure Africaine des Techniques de l'Information et de la Communication (ESATIC) in Abidjan! For 3 days, women entrepreneurs received FREE training in leadership and the use of digital tools to better manage their businesses. As a reminder, the DigiFemmes Start program will be held in 6 Ivorian cities this year: Abidjan, San Pédro, Bouaké, Korhogo, Abengourou and Daloa.

Conference organized by DigiFemmes and ENSEA

DigiFemmes and the École Nationale Supérieure de Statistique et d'Économie Appliquée (ENSEA) organized a conference under the patronage of Mrs. Nialè Kaba, Minister of Planning and Development on the occasion of the celebration of the International Women's Rights Day. The theme of the conference was "Digital and women's empowerment in Côte d'Ivoire: Innovative initiatives to promote the inclusion of women in the Ivorian digital economy". It took place on March 27, 2023 at ENSEA. The conference brought together several key players in the digital industry and government representatives including Ms. Nialé Kaba, Minister of Planning and Development and sponsor of the event, Mr. Amadou Coulibaly, Minister of Communication and Digital Economy of Côte d'Ivoire. Ms. Katerina Ntep, MCC Deputy Vice President for Sector Operations, Ms. Florance Rajan, Director of the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA), Ms. Sonia Shahrigian, MCC Country Director, Ms. Antonia Sodonon, UN FEMME Cote d'Ivoire Resident Representative, Ms. Safiatou Diallo, Country Director of the Tony Blair Institute, Ms. Anne Bisso, Director of USAID's Economic Growth Office in Côte d'Ivoire, and Ms. Hawa BERETE, MCC's DigiFemmes Country Coordinator, also honored this event with their presence.

Celebration of the International Women's Rights Day

We had a great time celebrating International Women's Rights Day with the talented women of DigiFemmes at ESATIC on March 9, 2023. The day started with an inspiring panel discussion on the changing role of women in the digital age, with Nadine Zoro N'guettia, DigiFemmes program director, Hawa Sy BERETE, national coordinator of the DigiFemmes program on behalf of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, and M. Esther Dassanou Dassanou, AFAWA program coordinator of the African Development Bank Group. It then continued with a book signing of "𝐀 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐚 𝐯𝐢𝐞", a book by Fatym Kaba who is also participating in the DigiFemmes Academy program. The rest of the day featured presentations and performances from various DigiFemmes clubs as well as a screening of the film "Figures of Darkness." It was a fantastic celebration of women's achievements in the digital age!

It is now the turn of 105 women aged between 16 and 47 to start the second stage of the selection process to join the DigiFemmes Academy programme. Like their peers from the first pool, they will be subjected to the same programme that their peers from the first pool participated in.

Official launch ceremony of the DigiFemmes programme

The official launch ceremony of the DigiFemmes programme was held on 3 November 2022 at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Statistique et d'Economie Appliquée d'Abidjan (ENSEA). This ceremony brought together various actors of the entrepreneurial ecosystem and was marked by the presence of authorities including: Her Excellency, Mrs. Rony Yedidia-Clein, Ambassador of the Republic of Israel in Côte d'Ivoire, Mr. Amadou Coulibaly, Minister of Communication and Digital Economy and Mrs. Agnieszka Rawa, Director of the "Data Collaboratives for Local Impact" programme of the Compact Operations Department of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).

DigiFemmes Christmas Fair

On 10 December, the DigiFemmes Christmas Fair was held with the participation of around 100 people. The objective of this fair was to allow the participants of the DigiFemmes Entrepreneures programme to improve their visibility and sell their products and services. Some of the participants of the DigiFemmes Academy programme were also able to exhibit their products. All this in a friendly atmosphere.

October "piscine"

On Monday 17 October 2022, more than 150 women aged between 16 and 47 started the second stage of the selection process to join the DigiFemmes Academy programme at the Da Carmen and Figli space located at the roundabout of the former Akouédo camp. For 4 weeks, they will participate in an intensive programme almost every day of the week in which they will learn about the command line interface and programming using the Go language. On the menu are exercises, exams, group projects, a hackaton... So you won't get bored.

The DigiFemmes Entrepreneures programme has started

Indeed, after applying to the DigiFemmes Entrepreneures programme, they are among the 50 women selected from a total of 300 applications. These are 15 women entrepreneurs in San Pedro and 35 in Abidjan whose entrepreneurial and digital skills will be strengthened for 6 months. The first cohort of DigiFemmes Entrepreneurs started their activities with a welcoming ceremony on Monday 17 October at the premises of Empow'Her Abidjan and San Pedro simultaneously.
